Through structured physiotherapy, Mayfair Wellness Clinic successfully treated a patient suffering from painful trigger finger symptoms. Using non-invasive techniques and guided rehab, we helped restore normal finger movement and grip strength without the need for surgery.
Project Description
A 56-year-old patient came in with stiffness, locking, and sharp pain in their ring finger. Triggering was most noticeable in the morning and after using hand tools. A clinical exam confirmed tendon inflammation causing restricted flexor movement.
We designed a plan using tendon-gliding exercises, soft tissue release, and ultrasound therapy. With consistent sessions and a splint for support, symptoms reduced significantly in three weeks with full functional recovery in six.
Preventive Health Screenings
Our preventive approach focused on reducing inflammation and preventing recurrence. The patient received ergonomic training and learned how to manage repetitive strain through lifestyle adjustments.
- Tendon gliding & ROM training
- Splinting to rest affected digit
- Ergonomic hand-use education
- Guided home-care protocols
- Regular follow-up to monitor flexibility
Challenges And Treatments
The key challenge was minimizing inflammation without restricting hand use. We started with localized modalities and gradually introduced motion exercises. With close monitoring and patient cooperation, the finger regained smooth, pain-free movement, and the patient returned to daily tasks with ease.
